The Marquis of Winchester (Chairman of a number of companies constituting Ha trey Group) has issued a statement: “On instructions of various banks and others interested, Sir Gilbert Garnsey, of Price Watehouse Coy., is investigating the affairs of the Group.” , . The Stock Exchange Committee has suspended, permission to deal in five Hatry Companies shares cabled yesterday, also Drapery Trust Limited and Wakefield Corporation four and a-half per cents. LONDON, September 20. Newspapers yesterday drew attention to the slump in shares of “ Hatry grouo ” which which the Corporation General Securities Limited and Associated Corporation this week sponsored Melbourne Harbour Trust issue. Jn connection with the Stock Exchanre suspension of dealings in the Hatry shares and certain connected securities, the action is unusual and indicates a serious view is taken by the authorities.
