WEDDING BELLS

A p etty wedding was. solemnised at S.. Mary's Church, Hokitika, yesterday bj - Rev. Father Finerty, when Jack, the eldest son of Mr and Mrs .7. Burke, of Greymouth, was united to Maude, the youngest daughter -of Mr and Mrs J. Cuttance, of Hokitika. The bride who was given away by her father, wore a sweet frock of ivory crepe-de-chine, with overdress of radium lace, richly embroidered with seed pearls. Her veil of embroidered tulle was draped from a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of freisia, pink roses and maidenhair fern. Her silver shoes and stockings completed a charming toilet. Miss Kathleen Burke (sister of the bridegroom) and Miss Margaret Harris (niece of the bride) were bridesmaids, the former wearing a frock of new blue crepe-de-chine with a mop cap of tulle to match, and the latter wearing a dainty frock of delicate green crepe-de-chine and cap to match. Botli carried bouquets of delicate shaded tulips and maidenhair fern. The three little flower girls, (Helen Nolan, Helen MacDonald and Marion Harris) made a charming picture arrayed in their dainty white frocks and posies of white and pink spring flowers. Mr Andrew Nolan carried out the duties of best man.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the bride’s home and which was attended by a largo number of friends and relations. Numerous cheques, presents and telegrams were received by the popular young couple before departing on their honeymoon tour to Reefton and Nelson. The bride’s travelling dress was a navy charmaline frock, navy hat to match and a set of fox furs.
