(United Press Association—By Electric

Telegraph—Copyright)

PARIS, September 13

Suspicions were aroused at Lille as to the contents of an unclaimed trunk at the railway station.

An investigation led to the discovery in the trunk of a man’s bound-up body and skull in the trunk. In one of the pockets was a letter signed “ Rigaudin.” •

The Paris police found out that Rigaudin’s mother-in-law was murdered four months ago. 'There is no clue in either case.

A BIG SENSATION

PARIS, September 15

The . murder of Rigaudin is turning out to be a first-class mystery. It is known that he was a leading anarchist, and was engaged in espionage, and it is believed that he had incurred the enmity of a gang. There have been several mysterious foreign callers, including a woman, at his home since his disappearance.

'Die police found his bedroom ransacked. It transpires that his murdered mother was housekeeper to Almereyda, the leader of the notorious wartime “ Bonnet Rouge ” plot. She was suspected of his betrayal and it is not known even now whether Ahnereyda suicided or was murdered.

After his arrest, Rigaudin declared that* he would devote his life to running down his mother’s murderer.
