The news available here is meagre but lengthy cables have come fr-ni Washington and New York which purport to give an outline of tho discussions and of the issues at stake. In deed the information..released here re garding the proposals had been negligible throughout the negotiations.

.The New York “Times’s’’ Washington correspondent states; The o!ficial announcement from London of Rt. Hon. Ramsay MacDonald’s visit has resulted in the admission in authoritative quarters here of agreement between the United States and Britain on the preliminary for a formal naval disarmament , conference, possibly in London, in Decemlmr, after the views of Javanese, French and Italian Governments have been ascertained.
