' Replying to a deputation from the Council of tlie Zionist Organisation, and of the Jewish Agency, which have sought assurances for the maintenance of peace in Palestine, Loul Passfield stated that there was no question of Britain giving up its Palestine mandate, or of her departing from the policy of the Balfour Note. He expressed appreciation of practical achievements of the Jews in Palestine, which were beneficial both to the Jews and Arabs; .but ho feltbound to state that development there must depend on the country’s power of absorption. The Government' realised; that alterations in the public security arrangements were necessary, and it had sc,nt out one hundred constables, and it was enlisting one him dred more constables. JERUSALEM, Sept. 12. i The Commission of British, Jewish and Arab Doctors found no proofs of the mutilation of victims in the Jewish massacres. , BRITISH EX-SERVICEMEN BEING . SENT. RUGBY, Sept. 10. The bulk of the ex-servicemen who are being sent to Palestine to reinforce the ponce force are under 25 years of age and 75 per cent of them have recently left the forces. The great majority have served in the Brigade of Guards.
