The agitation in various quarters to prohibit the exportation of stud sheep from Australia to South Africa has met with a refusal on the part df the Commonwealth authorities, who have announced that they are unable to approve of such action.
TOWN CLERK’S DEFALCATIONS

Rody O’Grady, a former Town Clerk or Tenterfield, was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment on ten charges of stealing, forgery and uttering, his Council funds having, showed a' deficiency of £7,4i.0. The judgment described him as a dishonest scoundrel.

When attempting to escape from Yatala labour prison, John Baxter, an habitual criminal, fell from a parapet and was severely injured. Guards found him unconscious on the ground. It was the second attempt to escape within three months.
