(Received this day at 9.25 a.m.) V ‘ PARIS, Sept. 10:--“Le Matin,” reviewing Lord Lansdowne’s memoirs, recalls an occasion, wnen King Edward called the ex-Kai-ser a “spitfire.” The review refers to a letter in Lord Lansdowhe’s book in which, he declares: “As far as I remember, King Edward never made a single important ‘ suggestion qorioerning big political questions.” “Le Matin” then cites a story of a time of diplomatic tension over Tangier affairs as told by the French'a. Statesman, M. Delcasse, in 1905. King 1 ' Edward travelled across France wherehe met President Loubert. King Edward remarked: “Don’t be over anxious. My spitfire nephew is above ail ' a coward. Moreover, you are in there. Hold your ground.” v > “i.e Matin” adds that King Edward, then outlined in 20 words, a complete , policy of groat importance.
