Mr Fraser’s Unemployed Workers’ •Bill No. 2 was read a first time. , The following Estimates were passed—Native Department, £32,266; Native Land Settlement Account, £(3185 .Native Trustees Accbunt, £13,281; Cook Islands £28,273; Naval U304,C67. ' While the Defence Department estimate, £400,587 was under consideration, Mr H. E. Holland moved that it be reduced by £1 as an'indication that military' expenditure should be substantially reduced. A division' was called for and the amendment was' lost by 18 to 42, being supported almost solely by' the Labour Party... " The Committee’reported progress and the House adjourned at 10.38’ witHouf having passed the vote.
