THE HOUSE. By TeVf»nnh—P«r Association.) WELLINGTON. September 7. Discussion on the Western Samoan report was continued in the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon. Mr Howard moved that New Zealand’s policy be recast to bring the administration into line with the declared policy of “Samoa for the Samoans.” After a speech by Sir A. Ngata, Mr Howard did not press the point, and allowed his amendment to be rejected on the voices.
Reports on the offenders probation system was then discussed and consideration of the report o*f the Prisons Department was commenced shortly before the House rose at 5.30 p.m.
