PICTURES. “BEAU BROAD WAY” TO-NIGHT. With a sparkling vehicle that outranks their previous screen triumphs in smartness and sophistication, Lew Cody and Aileen Pringle resume their co-starring teamwork in “Beau Broadway,” the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer picture to be screened at the Princess Theatre tonight. The story'is written specially for the Cody-Pringle team by Malcolm St. Clair, the Tex Rickard of the films, who also directs the picture, has a swiftly moving plot laid in the colourful background of the sporting world. Fiht promoter Lambert adopted an old-time pugilist’s daughter, but she turned out to be eighteen and pretty—and the promoter took the count to heart. What happened afterwards in the sporting world makes a medley, of laughs, love and ringside thrills that will make you grip your seat with excitement. In the supporting caste are Sue Carel, 1928 Wampas Baby Star, Heinie Conklin, blackface comic; James J. Jeffries, former world’s champion, Hugh Trevor, collegiate actor; Kit Guard and Jack Herrick.

The supports for this ultra-modern romance include an M.G.M. News, and a Hal Roach Comedy “Should Women Drive.” The final chapter of “The Vanishing Rider” and opening chapter of “The Haunted Island” starring Jack Daugherty. Latest selections hy the orchestra. t , , .
