BAY OF WHALES, Sept. 4. Although the sun is getting higher above the horizon every day, that does not mean that the weather is warmer. As a matter of fact 60 below is not uncommon with us. To-day is calm and dear, hardly a cloud in the sky, and the sun is shining brilliantly several degrees below the horizon, but it is 48 below zero, and very unpleasant when facing an aljnost imperceptible breeze. Work is proceeding indoors all the time, however. Hie aeroplane crews are getting their material ready for the overhaul of planes, just as eavl\ as possible, but we are thankful for the sun even though at present it has brought colder weather. In a few more weeks the thermometer will begin to' go down in earnest;
