LAUNCH DAMAGED
TIMARU, September 3. An outbreak of fire •at 10 o’clock to-night was responsible for slight damage to the Helen Lassie, a 30ft ■ashing launch belonging to the Timaru - > trawling fleet, and owned by Mr T. E. McPherson, which was berthed at the end of the Marine Parade. As a result of the nre Mr James Roddick suffered burns on the arms and hands, necessitating medical attention, but , his injuries are not , serious. , Messrs 'McPherson and Roddick were engaged were engaged in starting 'the engine, a small electric motor being used for the purpose. A short circuit occurred causing an outbreak of lire. The Timaru lire Brigarde were promptly on the scene and soon had the outbreak , extinguished. The full extent of th©VV\ damage was not known to-night, but the owner is of the opinion that it was not of a serious nature. The launch is insured for £2CO in the United ° fflce - ' ' iUli
