CONDEMNED STOCK
COMPENSATION ASKED FOR, STRATFORD, Sept. 3. The matter of compensation for condemned stock was discussed by the Taranaki Master Butchers’ Association at the annual meeting. The preident (Mr AV. G. Simpson) said that a member could lose as much as £2O in ten days through having stock condemned. The public must be protected from having to eat diseased meat, but the basis of compensation was too low, having been fixed many years ago, when values were much lower.
