AGAINST “BLACK” FIRM, fAustralian Press Association) SYDNEY, Aug. 30. A new phase of the timber dispute is 'the boycotting by -the Balmain Dinghy Club of the lighterage ferry lirnrof Nic-holsori Bros., who for many years, have been liberal supporters of yachtsmen, aiid have provided launches to follow races in cases of accident. Not only is the firm blacklisted, but a well-known boat and crew have been disqualified, because the skipper, Baulkwell, accepted black money in the shape of Nicholsons’ cheque for a prize, which the Club declined; hut which Nicholsons’ sent to Baulkwell privately. Nicholsons’ allege their offence is said to he the fact that. their tugs and lighters have continued to work timber for a certain big firm.
It is reported that an effort is being nulde to get the Sydney Flying Squadron to withdraw business from another launch proprietor, whose boats, it is understood, have carried loyalists to and from timber yards.
