(United Press Association—By Electric

Telegraph—Copyright)

VANCOUVER, August 29

Closing a five weeks’ tour of British Columbia, -Mr R. B. Bennett, federal Conservative Leader, speaking at Fernie, again contended that the N.Z. trade treaty had worked to the disadvantage of Canada, and had destroyed the Canadian dairy industry. It had reduced the number of cows, increased the- price of meat, and made the Dominion a dependent country for butter. He. declared: “Our Party will never consent to the transaction, or the treaty, which will destroy any industry indigenous to Canada.”
