Motions were adopted in the following form: — ( That this combined meeting of New Zealand Farmers’ Union and other •ognate organisations favours a. reduction in public expenditure, instead e |r in increase in taxation on the farm 'ands of the Dominion; recommends the exemption of £IO,OOO on registered mortgages in computation of land tax if further taxation is required from the land,' but that exemption be reduced by £1 for £1 in excess of £IO.OOO unimproved value, until it finally disappears at £20,000; that this meeting is of the strongest opinion that it is most inequitable ifor any taxpayer to pay taxation on debts: that family partnerships ho individualised for both land and income tax.
