DAIRY BOARD

ELECTION OF MEMBERS. , WELLINGTON, August 19. Considerable interest is, evinced in the election of three members of the Dairy. Board as representatives of the producers in wards 5,6, and 9, nominations for which closed at noon to-day. The retiring members are Messrs ,1. ItCorrigan, W. A. lorns (chairman of the board) and T. M. Tympany, representatives of wards 5,6, nnd 9 respectively, . who retired by rotation and were eligible for nomination and reelection. The wards embrace the following counties: — Ward No. s.— Waimate West, Ilawera, Patea, Waitotnra, Wnimarino, Wiiiyjinui, Rfingitikei, Kiwitea, Pohangina, Oroua and Ivairanga. Ward No. 6.—Matakoa, Waiapu, Dawn, Waikolu, Cook, Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay, Widpawa, Waipukurau, Patangata, Dannevirke, Weber, Woodviile, Paliijitua, Akitio, Eketaliuna, Mauriceville, Castlepoint, Mnsterton, Wairarnpa South, Fcntherston, . Hutt, Makara, ' Horowlienua and Manawatu. Ward No, 9- —Southland, Stewart Island, Wallace, Fiord-and Lake. The nominations received by the eturning officer, Mr W. C. Robinson, of the Department of Agriculture, me as follow Ward 5, Mr J. R. Corrigan; ward 6, Mr W. A. Tovns, of Martinborough, and Mr Philip Davies, of Hamiin ; ward 9, Mr T. M. Tympany, of Woodlands, and Mr John Dunlop, of Seaward Downs. ]t will ho seen that Mr J. R- Corrigan is unopposed, hut keen contests are anticipated in respect of the other wards. Tile election will close at noon on September 13 and will he by a system of postal voting. The electoral rolls of producers (defined by the Dairy Prod Control, Act, 1913. ns suppliers of milk and cream to-fac-tories manufacturing dairy produce for export) have been completed.
