A sapphire weighing one thousand carats has been found in a mine in Jpper Burmah. The stone is of such enormous size tiiat its value cannot be estimated. Thomas Alexander Watters, assistant cane inspector for the Colonial Sugar Refining Company at Ouvu, Sigakot’a, Fiji, was run over by a cane train locomotive on Aug. 18th. and killed.
