A PAPUA PROPOSAL

-SYDNEY, August 21. A message from Cairns states that the cultivation of sugar-cane on a large scale in Papua is contemplated by a syndicate of Cairns and Non Guinea business men, who are airanging to acquire twenty thousand acres to supply a mill in the northern division of Papua. The syndicate proposes to produce sugai to compete in the world’s nuuket uiti the product of other dark labour countries. N.S.W. POLITICS. SYDNEY, August 21. Premier Bavin intends to interview Mr Jar vie (member of Parliament) on the latter’s return from Queensland.
