ZEPPELIN STARTS OFF

The‘ f zeppelin started in ideal circumstances frir the' - world tour and is now averaging sixty- miles an- hour. Two passengers, Pierce,' an American mil-lionaire'/-and bis wife, missed the airship, "Though'They made a'rush journey ex' New- : York' and chartered an aeroplanel in Europe in the hope of reaching Friedrichslmfen in time. The aeroplane'had engine trouble however and was’compelled to make a forced landing. -The Pearces just saw the zeppelin passing over Berlin. In-’case'the zeppelin is stranded in Siberia they are taking a store of Arctic provisions and guns to enable them to live in Arctic conditions. In this case Sir H. Wilkins, who is again a passenger, will take command and guide the party to safety. Indeed Wilkins formulated plans to meet such, a crisis. The plans were kept secret till the last moment, the Zeppelin Company fearing-their disclosure would arouse a fear that the zeppelin was not expected to reach Tokio safely. LONDON, August 15.
