(By Telegraph—Per Press Association.)
WELLINGTON, Aug. 16,
Larrikinism has been in evidence at Wellington Sunday evening concerts, and to-day an example was made of a young man picked out in the gallery gods, who , had been guilty ,of what is iinown as “administering the raspberry.” It was mentioned .that on account of such conduct difficulty was being experienced in getting good, artists to take part.
The Magistrate agreed to the suppression of the accused’s name. He ■vvas only one of'a number of offenders. A fine of £3, however, was imposed. A disturbance, at a theatre at Miramar led to a youth from that district also coming before the Bench. Again his name was suppressed, the-Magis-trate remarking that he would take Counsel’s word that the accused had learned liis lesson. No fine was imposed, but accused was ordered to pay os towards the costs.
