CHRISIWURCII, Aug. 14. “Stop the, thief!” was called by a totalisator ..clerk a t the Trotting meeting to-day .when he saw a man knock a woman down, snatch her bag and race off with it. A crowd took up the chase, and followed the man with a hue and cry along the path towards the gates. The fugitive was not being overtaken, but he was caught by a 1 man coming into the course, who brought him down witli a.- good football tackle, and held him til],, the police arrived.
