The position is now open and most interesting. Nottingham lost the leadership and Kent is now practically out of the running. The present position of the teams is: Gloucester and Lancashire each 126, Nottingham 123, Yorkshire 119, Kent 116, Sussex 111, Derby 107. TATE UNABLE TO PLAY. (Received this day at 11.25. a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 14. Tate is unable to play against South Africa in the test match. His substitute is not yet announced.
