A sensation has been caused in Central India by the news that the Rpja of .Jhabua, who already has eight wives ; lias arranged for a ninth marrigae with a Rajput girl, aged eighteen. The Rajah is aged fifty-four, and was deprived of his powers by' the India Government in 1927. Every new wife brings him money and lands from the Father-in-law for the maintenance of the wives.
