An important step towards peace in the cotton trado was taken yesterday by Iboth sections of the employers, iby giving tho Wages’ Committee full powers “not excluding the principle of submitting the dispute -to arbitration.” “This is a great concession, as the spinning employers have previously refused even to consider Arbitration. Tbe way is almost clear now to approach' tbe employees’ oganisations. It is hoped that a joints conference will lead to a speedy settlement.
