Chinese reports arriving here this morning state there are alarming Russian troop movements in the river Amur districts where the Soviet are massing. There was an extensive mobilisation of all railway traffic near the Amur for the whole week. Coaches were used for conveying the troops. Meanwhile it is stated encounters between Russian and Chinese troops on the border are causing merchants to suspend business in Manchuli and leaving the city as hurriedly as possible. i Local reports believe war is probable.
