KOTUKU OIL FIELD
TARANAKI COMPANY. TO CARRY OUT TESTS. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association,) GISBORNE, Aug. (3. The Director of tjie Tarapaki (N.Z.) Oil Fields (no liability) has decided to carry out a preliminary test of the anticlinal formation situated to the north of the oil seepages at Kotuku on vne West Const of the South Island,’ '.about 15 miles from Greymouth. Oil rights in the district have been held by the Company for some time,' and last year the area now proposed to be tested was examined by Mr E. 0. MacPherson, the Company’s Geologist, who reported favourably and recommended that the structure be tested)
