IP’ T( leg rap h Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON. August 1. hi -consequence of a collision on the Hutt Road in which the cyclist C. E. Warr was seriously injured, Nathaniel John Reid, a salesman, aged 41, >vo.s chawed in the Magistrate’s Court with causing bodily injury while driving in a state of intoxication. Medical evidence was that Warr was severely hurt and would he incapacitated for six months and possibly suffer a shortness in one leg, which was broken. A witness said be saw accused driving erratically and swerve to the wrong side and hit the cyclist. He saw the accused after the accident and considered he was under the influence of liquor, and unfit to drive. Counsel’s version for accused was tlv’t the day was web and windy. A cigarette ash flew into Reid’s eve and temporarily blinded The car did not belong to him and lie could not got bail. Eventually accused decided to plead guilty than wait f bree mouths for trial and was oommitted for sentence.
