SENT TO GAOL. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, July 111. . : Percy Harry Ellis, alias Cowan, alias (tlillar, who yas recently convicted and sentenced to one month’s imprisonment on three charges of false pretences, by .representing that he was the representative of the N.Z. Pictorial News, and Government Publicity Department again appeared in the Police Court this morning, when thirteen similar charges were preferred against him. He pleaded guilty to all of them. Three had occurred at Wyndham, three at Mataura, two at Bluff, and one each at Riverton, Winton, Otorlianga, and Fairlie. Ho . was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment on each of the local charges, the sentences to be concurrent. Detective-Sergt. Hewitt, who appeared for the police, asked that accused be remanded to appear at Timaru on August 6th to answer a charge from Fairlie and also an Otorlianga charge. This request was grantedi
