(By Telegraph—Per Press Associat.on.) THE COUNCIL.* WELLINGTON, August 1. The Legislative Council met at 2.30. The Education Amendment Bill (Hon Thomson) was introduced and read a first time. Captive Birds Shooting Prohibition Bill (Hon. Thomson) was put through its filial stages and passed. Also Christ’s College (Canterbury) Amendment Bill. Rent Restriction Continuance Bill was put through its final stages and passed. The Council adjourned at 4.10 p.m. until 2.30 p m. on 20th August. ■ THE HOUSE. .i-The House of Representatives met at 2.30. foGaptive Birds Shooting Prohibition Bill, passed by the Legislative Council was introduced and read a first time. ! i*'A division was taken on the second reading of the Compulsory Military Service Repeal Bill (Mr W.
