COMMERCIAL ITEMS.
ARAHURA FAT STOCK SALE. Messrs M. Houston and Co report :
There was a very good attendance of buyers at yesterday’s sale at the above yards, when we submitted 49 head of fat cattle to competition. Our entry comprised good quality light wleight steers and heifers, the bidding for which was very keen. The total entry at the sale was again below butchers requirements, and towards the end of the sale prices were very firm, beef selling as high as 55s per hundred, the average throughout being a shade above 50s. AVe sold as follows:—On account of Jos. Havill {. cow at £8 12s 6d; on account of F. G. Williams and Sons 2 bullocks at £l4 ss; 3 heifers at £l2 7s 6d; 1 cow at £ll 10s- 4 bullocks at £Lt 17s 6d;' 2 at £l6 ss; 2 at £l4 15s; 3 heifers at £ 12; 2 heifers at £l2 2s 6d 3 heifers at £l2; 4 bullocks at £l4: 3 heifers at £l2 7s 6d; 3 bullocks at £l4 17s 6d; 1 at £l4 17s 6d 4 heifers at £l2; 2 at £l3; 1 bullock at £l7 2s 6d; 1 cow at £ls 12s 6d; 1 bullock at £l6. On account of T. Staines 1 icow at £5 2s 6d; 2at £6. On account of E. Morris; 3 bullocks at £l3 10s.
