WOOL POSITION. LONDON, July 26. (United Press Association—By Electric T elegraph—Copyright). vSix Australian delegates, E. Leesteere, T. M. Daskin, A. E. Gillman, Peter Tait, Frank Whyte and Fairfax have arrived ,at Bradford to confer with the British Wool Federation. Today’s and to-morrow’s discussions are being held privately. The subjects include wool marketing, wool substitutes, and “ Use More Wool ” campaign. Hereanent it is noteworthy that leading national advertising agents are at present at Bradford to specially informally discuss a worldwide publicity scheme. It is believed the latter discussion is preliminary to a far reaching conference later in the year. FRENCH SENSATION. (Received this day at 8 a.m.) PARIS, July 26. Alleged banking swindles recalling the Gazette Du France case, led to tlie arrest of a woman banker, Lucie Degorisar, founder and director of the Institute Francaise which specialised in dear loans to Bohemians, ,Montmartre, who had been defrauded of £25,000. A young Widower, Paul Dufoar, confessed to the murder of Hug-, uet. He says he killed her because she refused marriage and also he knew she carried wealth in his clothes.

The newspaper “Alsiassa” says Lord Lloyd ignored the 1922 declaration and intervened strictly in internal affairs not related thereto. I f as reported ex London, negotiations with Masmoud Pasha were successful, Lord Lloyd’s recall was natural.
ROAD CONTROL
LONDON, July 27
Urging legislation to control rood traffic long overdue, a Royal Commission recommends no general special speed limits for motor-cars and cycles if fitted with pneumatic tyres, but omnibuses and coaches should be limited to thirty-five miles hourly, and goods vans to thirty. Penalties for dangerous driving should be to a maximum of £SO for the first offence, and £IOO for the second. The qualifying age for a motor-cycle license should be sixteen instead of fourteen There should he power to regulate pillion riding and also order proper direction plates of towns.

In order to facilitate the Reparations Conference on 6th August the Government have agreed to the Hague venue which is now assured.
MALTESE DISPUTE
VALETA (Malta). July 26
Amid prolonged Ministerial cheering a vote df confidence in the Government, arising out of the Vatican dispute, was carried in the Legislative Assembly by 17 to 12.
