Jones was married to the co-respon-dent Hannah Jones at Chicago to-day. In view of the If act that there is a possibility of the case being taken to the Supreme Court,' it is considered that Jones might find himself a bigamist if that court should reverse the previous decision.

A previous cable stated that at Reno Lloyd Jones, of Sydney, and formerly of New Zealand, was granted a divorce, behind locked doors, by Judge Bartlett. The plea of the wife (a New Zealander) for separate maintenance, was refused. The Judge rejected the evidence that the wife presented of “ another woman.”

NAVAL AGREEMENT

NEW YORK, July 26

Speaking at Portland, Maine, Senator Frederick Hale, Chairman of the Senate Committee of Naval Affairs, declared that he believed the MacDon-ald-Hoover naval agrement to be void until the Senate ratifies it. . Senator Hale said Hoover’s postponement of the cruiser building programme must have the Senate’s approval.
