POWER BOARDS’ CONFERENCE

The. Power Boards Conference opened to-day, Mr Nash, M.P., presiding over an attendance of about 150. Hon. E. A. Ransom, Public Works Minister, and Mr J. G. Coates were present. Air Ransom addressing the delegates, said ho did not wish to dissociate Air Coates from the progress made. Re had brought forward many of the big schemes now in hand. The Alilfiister outlined the position with regard bo various plants L f n operation, and preparation, and dealt with the subject of charges. Statistics showed that all undertakings had made a profit of £502,535 for the year ended March 31, after allowing for operating and capital costs. He stressed the importance of the amalgamation of cosu>. WELLINGTON, July 24. The whole position must be considered as a national one and units must be co-ordinated. Air Coates said ho saw no general difficulties in the way of progress.
