TRAM SMASH
OVER THIRTY INJURED. (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, July 21. Two trams collided with terrific force on the edge of a fifty feet cliff at Watson's Bay, in the vicinity of the notorious Suicide Gap to-day. The conductor of one tram was hurled through space, but struck the guard rail, which prevented his descent down the precipice to the. sea. Twenty-nine of the passengers were more or less injured, but only two were taken to rhe hospital. Allan Vane, tramway conductor, is suffering from concussion and severe shock. Robert Clark, .tram motorman, sustained a fractured leg. A number of the .are suffering from abrasions, cuts, bruises and shock. •: • T The collision occurred on a single line. Both of the trams were damaged xeyoud repair. The wonder is that many were not killed.
