SOUTHERN CROSS
LONDON TO NEW YORK. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) NEW YORK, July 15. The Wright Aeronautical Corporation lias announced the receipt of messages from. Squadron Leader Kingsford Smith, indicating that he and Lieut. Ulm are not discouraged by the recent failures on the trans-Atlantic crossing, and that they would probably endeavour to fly from London to New York within the next few days.
The aviators have asked if the Wright Corporation deemed it advisable to fly to New York and thence to Oakland (California) with the same motors as they used when they left Oakland for Sydney last year. The accomplsihment of this feat with the original equipment would he a new exploit in aviation history.
KINGSFORD SMITH
(Received this day at 9.25 a.m.) LONDON, July 16.
Kingsford Smith and party laid a wreath on the Cenotaph. SquadronLeader Wrigley accompanied them representing the R.A.A.F.
