THEFT OF RING,

MASTERTON, July 13. ' Henry Governor,- a young Maori, pleaded guilty to a charge ol breaking, entering, and theft of a gckl ring, the property of Kami 'J’e Tan. Tho Magistrate committed him to the Supremo Court at Wellington foi sentence. Bail was not granted. MOTOR-CARS FROM AMERICA. AUCKLAND, July 13. A largo shipment of motor-cars for New Zealand arrived at Auckland from New York by the steamer Port Gisborne. In the total of 340 automobiles of numerous makes, tile shipment comprised 102 for Auckland, 109 for Wellington, 67 for Christchurch, and the balance for Dunedin. The Port Gisborne had, in addition, a heavy consignment of automobile accessories and rubber goods. Much ol this part of the shipment -was lor Wellington, where it will be delivered to manufacturing plants established in connexion until the motor industry in this Dominion. Though the shipment does not rank as the largest of its kind from America, it is an indication of tho higli rate rate of motor absorption by New Zealand that such shipments should ho arriving with comparative frequency.
