It was' stated by counsel to-day that the main action in the famous case of Wright and others versus Morgan and othei-s, was settled this morning by the consent of all parties. CRUSHED BENEATH TRACTOR, b WANGANUI, July 12. I A distressing accident occurred on .i the Turakina Hill, about thirteen miles from Wanganui, this afternoon, resulting in the dedth, at the Wanganui Hospital, of Mr Dave Adamson, aged twenty-two. Demonstrations were being given with a road tractor, and Adamson was in the driver’s seat, when the vehicle, evidently passing over soft ground at the edge of the road, lost its balance, and in rolling down the bank crushed the unfortunate man beneath it. drunk and disorderly. CHRISTCHURCH, July 15. “There is a sinister aspect about this case upon which I will not comment further. There is a big doubt the benefit; of which must go to the defendant.” This comment was made . by Magistrate Levvy to-day in dismissing two charges against Alexander MacDonald Smith, aged 39, a wellknown electrician, of being disorderly while drunk, and with using obscene language.
