EVER INGHAM MILLIONS

Alfred Hunt, a married man, fortyseven years of age, was admitted to the Public Hospital at 6.45 last night suffering from a fractured right leg. WELLINGTON, July 15, Wellington has been fortunate in its week-ends this winter, till Satur-, day. This was Charity Day and the receipts from the sports were to go principally to the earthquake fund. The worst weather of the winter chose this particular date to make its appearance, and all games had to be played in a downpour of rain on fields so waterlogged that even the ambulance men were at times sprawling full length in muddy pools. Instead of some hundreds of pounds going to the fund, probably not even the expenses will be covered.
WHITE ISLAND COY. AUCKLAND, July 13. The New Zealand Directors of White Island Products Limited, Messrs O. Nicholson (Chairman), E. K. Davis, and H. G. Wilson, decided at a meeting this morning to resign. The meeting was held to discuss the policy put forward by the London Board of Directors, which has the controlling interest in the Company. It was decided that the matter should be left entirely in the hands of the English Directors and Attorney. Other resignations included those of Mr H. Welsh (General Manager) and Mr W. C. Young.
GAMING HOUSE RAIDED. STRATFORD, July 15. . ‘At the Court this morning Dominick Sisarich, proprietor of a restaurant, was fined £75 on a charge of keeping a common gaming house. The premises were raided by the police on Saturday.
