A GERMAN TRIAL

Orloff Pavlonovski, cabled on 7th July, was sentenced to four months 7 imprisonment, the Court taking into account the long period in gaol when awaiting trial. Accused had a remarkable career. He w’as employed in the notorious Checka, after the downfall of the Monarchy, but was found to be a Monarchist agent, and was sentenced to death. He managed to escape from Russia and carried out a violent anti-Bolshevik propaganda in Germany. '
He pleaded during the irial that any measures calculated to rid Russia of the present rulers were permissible and sacred.
