One hundred women and children clashed to safety from a blazing cinema theatre at Welling, in Kent, following upon a fire in the operator’s box. The operator and his assistant; were seriously burned. The manager and two others Were also injured. An unemployed ex-serviceman proved to be the hero of the fire, penetrating into the operator’s box after others had been driven bade.
