PUBLIC WORKS GRANT
(By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian). "WELLINGTON, July 12. The Minister of Public Works has authorised an additional £SOO for Little Wanganui Fiver protection works pending Cabinet deciding on the major scheme which will cost about £3,600. The grant now made enables the work to be continued, pending the'larger expenditure proposed being lobked'Mnto by thb Head Office.- There is every likelihood, however, "of the work being carried to completion as the saving of d the settlement from inundation is Considered of the greatest importance.
