A UCKLAND ; SENTENCES. AUCKLAND, July 10. In the Supreme Court, the following prisoners were sentenced : Reginald Gordon Cotterill, 19, famous for his “cat” burglar exploits (27 charges), three y,ears’ detention in the,Borstal Institute. Percival Charles Yates, 26, robbery with violence at Hamilton, nine months’ imprisonment with hard labour. Sonny Hoare, 19, theft of a horse at Opotiki, three years’ probation. Charles Richard Torstenson, 30, carnal knowledge at Whangarei, two years’ reformative detention. Frederick Henry Norton (a youth), carnal knowledge at Te Puke, three years’ probation. Walter Hunter (a Maori), breaking, entering and theft at Auckland, three years’ imprisonment with hard labour. Jack Hopo (a half-caste), breaking, ‘ entering and theft at Auckland, one year’s imprisonment with hard labour,to be followed by one year’s reformative detention. Ivan Major Martin Uling, breaking,' entering, and theft at Auckland, three years’ reformative detention. Howard William WhitefielcT, 22, breaking, entering, and theft at Rawene, three years’ probation.
