STEAMER’S EXPERIENCE. (Australian Press Association). (Received this day at 10 a.m.; SYDNEY, July 11. When midway between Cape Maria Van Diemen and Sydney the steamer Aelybryn passed close to two .submarine upheavals. Captain! Stevenson said last Sunday, without warning, a great surge of water rose out of the sea and gradually assumed a concave formation, which reached a height of about thirty feet before settling again. Ho estimated the width of. the water was between fifteen and twenty ifeet. A quarter of an hour later a second upheaval occurred in the same position. No sensation was felt aboard the ship but Captain Stevenson said there must have been a terrific upheaval at the bottom of th esea.
