MOTOR CAR OWNERSHIP. i : A statistical survey, which has been recently issued, of the motor trade in New Zealand, estimates that about one-fourth of the motor cars in the Dominion are owned by persons w|io earn less than £3OO a year. The extent of the ownership of motor cars in New Zealand—the registrations showing that there is one car to every eleven inhabitants—must have, struck most observant people as exceedingly high, but the attempt to measure it in relation to incomes has produced a result that is probably more arrest- 1 ' ing than trustworthy. —Otago Daily Times.
