GAMBLING PROSECUTIONS

Following the example of the authorities, the International Settlement at Shanghai is exterminating all unlicensed forms pf organised gambling, in an effort to reduce the motives for crime. French, settlement authorities have announced a similar plan and simultaneously raided several popular roulette -establishments, arresting hundreds of various nationalities. Five similar settlements were recently closed and Mexican operators are at present undergong trial in a Chinese Provisional Court.
