The most fiendish crime committed for many years has been discovered at, Detroit, when the nude bodies of Rev. Paul, an Evangelist, his wife, also three daughters, and one son • were found murdered.

Tlie evangelist was a religious fanatic.

Evidently the murders were committed by a'pervert with an axe. The evangelist’s head Was severed from the body, and it rested gruesomely on a chair. His wife’s head was also cut off, while the bodies of the daughters, aged eight, nine, and ten ye.ars, were fearfully abused and mangled. 1
