PROTEST BV AUCKLAND UNION
AUCKLAND, June 28,
A circular issued by the Auckland Trade Union Executive to Labour organisations throughout the Dominion, the Prime Minister, Minister of Labour, and members of the Parliamentary Labour . Party, draws attention to what are considered anomalies in recent .decisions of the Arbitration Court, particularly Auckland milk roundsmen’s and stonemasons’ disputes. Jt suggests that the Government inquire into their decisions and if in agreement with the Executive’s opinion, remove Justice Frazer from the presidency of the Court. They declare that in many instances provisions have been inserted in awards against the weight of evidence presented and that in industries where awards provide for long working hours, the overtime clauses are a disgrace.
