These withdrawals caused some anxiety, but the Bank Directors do not consider it necessary to raise the hank rate. Financial experts point out that the Bank recently acquired a good deal of gold above what was absolutely necessary for hanking for currency, and can lose some more millions belore it really needs to begin deflating.
