Under the Alain Highways Act, the Hoard is required to make an annual review of the highways. Some months igo the District Highways Councils were requested to arrange for the usual review and consider any cases where, by altercation of circumstances, Llie route of any main highway should be changed or adjustments should be •’■ado to meet any altered conditions. William •Coleman Ball, a draper, o’ 'entherston, died suddenly this morn ing from heart, failure. H n was aged forty-nine, and leaves a wide# and two children. THEFT OF JEWELLERY. WELLINGTON, June 26. Francis Hampton Ilou.siaux and Lawrence Lindsay Carter, were charged to-day with the burglary of Lloyd’ ewollory premises in Cuba St. on Alev 4th. and with the theft of goods to the value of over £315. Entrance was eff/ected bv a rop< through the skylight. Carter’s nr res' in Wellington led to the arrest o' llousiaux at Auckland. Both pleaded guilty and were com ■n it tod for sentence.
